Who do you think you Are? Psychedelics and Identity
Who do you think you Are? Psychedelics and Identity
Sunday, November 10th at 7:00 pm ET, with a 30-day recording available afterward
Our contemporary culture is centered around ideas of image, persona, and individual identity in ways that are unprecedented in human history. Our epidemics of anxiety, depression, and loneliness emerge from this cultural framework, and so does much of the violence we enact on our fellow humans and on other species. Psilocybin and other psychedelics have a profound ability to help us reimagine and redefine ourselves and our relationships to all of life. We will explore the neurobiology of how these medicines aid in shapeshifting identity, and the importance of our other-than-human kin in helping to create the "set and setting" to allow for this to unfold in a healthy way.
